High Protein Frozen Yogurt Bites with Strawberries and Chocolate

If you’re looking for a sweet treat that’s both yummy and healthy, you’re in the right place. These High Protein Frozen Yogurt Bites are cool, creamy, and covered in rich dark chocolate. They’re perfect for hot days, after-school snacks, or just when you want a little something special. Plus they’re packed with protein thanks to the Greek yogurt!

Method

Melt the Chocolate

Start by melting your dark chocolate until it’s smooth and silky. You can do this either in a microwave or using a double boiler on the stove. If you’re using the microwave, place your chocolate in a microwave-safe bowl and heat it in short 20-30 second bursts, stirring in between each round to make sure the chocolate doesn’t burn. Stirring also helps it melt evenly. If you’re using a double boiler, place the chocolate in a heat-safe bowl over a pot of simmering water (make sure the bottom of the bowl doesn’t touch the water). Stir the chocolate gently as it melts. Once fully melted and smooth, set it aside but keep it warm so it stays pourable.

Make Chocolate Shells

Next, grab your mini muffin liners or a mini muffin tray and get ready to build the base of your frozen bites. Spoon a small amount of melted chocolate into the bottom of each liner. Use the back of your spoon to swirl the chocolate up along the sides of the liners to form a little chocolate cup. It doesn’t have to be perfect just make sure the bottom and sides are coated well. Once done, place the chocolate-lined muffin liners into the freezer for about 5 minutes. This will allow the chocolate to harden and create a strong shell to hold the yogurt filling.

Mix the Filling

While the chocolate shells are chilling, it’s time to make your creamy filling. In a mixing bowl, combine the diced strawberries and Greek yogurt. Stir everything together until the strawberries are evenly spread throughout the yogurt. The strawberries should be chopped small enough to mix smoothly with the yogurt this makes it easier to spoon into the chocolate cups later.

Add the Filling

Take your muffin liners out of the freezer once the chocolate has set. Using a spoon, gently scoop the strawberry-yogurt mixture and fill each chocolate shell. Don’t overfill leave a little space at the top so you can seal everything with the final layer of chocolate. Smooth the tops slightly so the filling sits evenly in each cup.

Top with More Chocolate

Now, take the remaining melted chocolate and pour it over the top of each yogurt-filled cup. This layer should fully cover the yogurt and reach the edges to seal the filling inside. You can gently tap the tray on the counter to level the chocolate and help it spread out evenly. If you love that sweet-salty flavor combo, sprinkle a little flaky sea salt on top while the chocolate is still soft.

Freeze Until Set

Finally, place the finished bites back into the freezer and let them freeze for at least 2 hours, or until they’re completely firm. You can even leave them overnight if you’re making them ahead of time. Once frozen, they’re ready to pop out of the liners and enjoy! Store any extras in an airtight container in the freezer to keep them fresh and tasty.

Notes

  • Don’t skip freezing the chocolate shell before adding the filling this helps keep the bites nice and neat.

  • Let them freeze fully or they’ll be messy to eat!
