3 Ingredient Peanut Butter Banana Cookies (Easy, Healthy & Gluten-Free)

Who else loves 3 ingredient peanut butter banana cookies that are super easy and super yummy? These 3-ingredient peanut butter banana cookies are soft, chewy, and full of flavor  and guess what? There’s no flour, no butter, and no eggs! Just one ripe banana, some creamy peanut butter, and sugar. That’s it!

If you’re looking for a quick treat you can whip up after school or during the weekend, these cookies are perfect. Let’s get baking!

Method

Mash & Mix

To start, grab your ripe banana the riper, the better! It should have brown spots on the peel, which means it’s extra sweet and mashable. Peel the banana and place it into a mixing bowl. Use a fork to mash it thoroughly until there are no big lumps and it becomes smooth and almost creamy in texture. Next, add in the granulated sugar and creamy peanut butter. Stir everything together using a spoon or spatula until the mixture is fully combined and forms a thick, sticky batter. The dough should look smooth and hold its shape when scooped.

Scoop & Drop

Once your batter is ready, prepare your baking sheet by lining it with parchment paper to prevent the 3 ingredient peanut butter banana cookies from sticking and to make cleanup super easy. Using a cookie scoop or spoon, scoop out small amounts of the dough about 1-inch in size and drop them onto the baking sheet. Space the cookie dough balls about 1 to 2 inches apart so they have room to spread slightly while baking. If you’re in the mood for a little extra flair, sprinkle a tiny pinch of flaky sea salt on top of each cookie before they go into the oven. It adds a fancy touch and brings out the peanut butter flavor even more!

Bake It Up

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Once it’s nice and hot, place the baking sheet in the center rack of the oven. Bake the cookies for 10 to 12 minutes, keeping an eye on them during the last couple of minutes. The edges should turn lightly golden and the tops might look slightly cracked that’s how you know they’re ready! Be careful not to overbake them; they may look soft in the middle, but they’ll continue to set as they cool.

Cool & Enjoy

After baking, take the cookies out of the oven and let them rest on the baking sheet for about 5 minutes. This helps them firm up without falling apart. Once they’ve cooled slightly, move them to a wire rack or plate to cool completely. And just like that, your soft, chewy peanut butter banana cookies are ready to enjoy!

Ingredients

  • 1 large ripe banana (mashed)

  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar

  • 1 cup creamy peanut butter

Directions

  • Mash & Mix: In a mixing bowl, mash the banana until smooth. Add in the sugar and peanut butter. Stir everything together until it looks like cookie dough!
  • Scoop & Drop: Use a spoon or cookie scoop to scoop 1-inch balls of the dough. Place them on a parchment-lined baking sheet. Want to get a little fancy? Sprinkle some flaky sea salt on top!
  • Bake It Up: Bake the cookies in a preheated oven at 350°F for 10–12 minutes. The edges should look a little golden and crispy.
  • Cool & Enjoy: Let the cookies cool down for a few minutes on the baking sheet before gobbling them up!

Notes

  • Banana Check: Make sure your banana is really ripe – the kind with brown spots! That makes it easier to mash and much sweeter.
  • Mix Well: Mix until all ingredients are smooth and fully combined – no streaks of peanut butter!
  • Spacing Matters: Leave space between each cookie on the tray – they spread just a little.
  • Don’t Overbake: Take them out once the edges look golden. They’ll continue to firm up as they cool!

Serving Suggestions

  • Eat them warm with a cold glass of milk (YUM!).
  • Crumble a cookie over some vanilla ice cream.
  • Pack one in your lunchbox for a sweet surprise.
  • Make mini cookie sandwiches with a smear of extra peanut butter in the middle!

Fun Fact

Did you know bananas are a natural sweetener? That means they help make things sweet without needing a ton of sugar. Plus, they add a soft, cakey texture to cookies. Thanks, bananas!

Conclusion

And there you have it soft, chewy, and 3 ingredient peanut butter banana cookies made with just THREE ingredients. This recipe is proof that delicious things don’t have to be complicated. Try it out next time you’ve got a ripe banana sitting on your counter.
